On a road trip between Delhi and Chandigarh, two friends, Harsheen and Naman, started a casual conversation about their dreams.
It quickly evolved into something more profound.
The name “Ombre” was chosen for the company—a nod to the art of colour grading, a passion that Harsheen Jammu had mastered over the years.
Just like the name suggests, Ombre was to be a reflection of shades—each wedding, each moment, a unique extension of the artist’s vision.
With only one camera and a heart full of ambition, Harsheen took the plunge.
In February of 2012, her very first wedding shoot for Kritika & Mudit in Delhi marked the beginning of a journey.
Soon word-of-mouth referrals flew in and brought her many more wedding projects.
This was the humble beginning of what would become a trusted name in wedding photography.
After years of juggling her bachelor’s and master’s degrees with a side hustle in wedding photography, Harsheen made a pivotal decision in July 2015.
Dropping out of IIM placements, she chose to pursue her dream of full-time.
This was no longer a passion project—it was a business with clear purpose and direction.
As the demand for Harsheen’s work grew, the need for a dedicated team became inevitable.
In 2016, Ombre expanded beyond its founder. Pulkit Kapoor joined, and together, the duo began capturing moments that would later be framed in living rooms of many families.
Ombre ventured into cinematography in 2017.
They collaborated with other companies like Cinewire and Joint Production to enhance the storytelling aspect of weddings.
This move allowed the company to offer an integrated experience—blending the stillness of photographs with the movement and emotion of films.
It was a seamless addition that elevated the brand’s offerings.
2018 was a year of monumental growth.
Harsheen’s personal work was featured in Vogue Italia!
But the real milestone was becoming a domestic brand ambassador for Fujifilm, an achievement that affirmed Ombre’s standing as a leader in the photography space.
It was the first of many collaborations that would position Ombre as a global brand.
How quickly Larissa was able to understand exactly what we were after, sometimes before we even knew ourselves. Larissa was able to take our ramblings and turn them into something that we feel so confident about.
"Larissa was so incredibly talented, patient and knowledgeable in helping us to design our home renovation, especially the open plan kitchen and living areas. Larissa asked thoughtful questions to understand our individual requirements and style we wanted for our home, and has put forward a vision which truly represents us.
We were truly overwhelmed with the many decisions that were in front of us by taking on a big renovation project, but working with Larissa has really made it painless and enjoyable! Without hesitation we would recommend to anyone taking on a project to engage with Larissa. We’re so excited to see everything come to life!"
Understanding furniture placement and size in a space.
"We were lucky enough to have Larissa assist us with designing our open planned lounge/dining and kitchen area. She helped with pairing colours that flowed from the kitchen and see a different side to sourcing furniture whilst listening and respecting our needs and ideas. She was collaborative and understanding while being a professional at what she does. Couldn't be happier!"
Considering I didn't know much about design before working with Larissa, I definitely get a lot more excited and confident with my style around the home now! My favourite feature of the bathroom transformation would have to be the wet room with the spacious walk in shower and bath.
"I thought an interior designer would just tell me what to do, but no - it was more about guiding me to find a design I absolutely loved and I didn't even know it. Larissa is a talented professional who guided me though the process to achieve an end result I couldn't have even imagined at the beginning. Being able to relax and unwind in my bath with a glass of wine in the beautiful space we created is everything I needed."
Gaining guidance, inspo and product sourcing while we are renovating our home.
"Hiring Curatorial Kin has been the best decision in our renovation journey. Figuring out our aesthetic and design wants and needs does not come easily to us so having Larissa's experienced advice has been fantastic. Larissa is efficient, enthusiastic and just understands how to achieve what we want. The most helpful part of the service was the mock up designs. We aren't visual people so her patience in creating options and then amending those options based on our likes and dislikes was so helpful!!"
